Berit

Maybe you know it yet but a violent storm called Berit touched the Scandinavia.
She came 2 days ago with blasts of wind from 100 to 170 km/h in the mounts between Norway and Sweden.

Thursday morning at 6 a.m. we had a power cut because of the Storm and another power cut Friday night. But it wasn't long.

I almost didn't sleep because of the blasts of wind and the thunder. The house was shaking sometimes. It was amazing.

And this morning while the storm is almost finished, I watched trough my window and there were snow on the mountains top. The snow is coming soon !

differences.

Some differences between France and Norway.

To say hello in Norway, a simple greeting is enough, there is no hand shaking or kiss. To say bye, it's the same. However, often, the young children give a cuddle to their grandmother to say hello for instance, and the first time we meet someone, we shake our hands.

The meals: in the morning, the Norwegians have breakfast (frokost) which can be both salty and sweet. Then, about 12 o'clock, they have another meal (lunsj), mostly made with slices of bread. At 15 or 16 o'clock, it's the dinner (middag), made by one warm dish. In Norway, the last meal (kveldsmat) is on the evening, without being at a specific time, and also consisting of slices of bread.

Meal of pancakes!

Few days ago, there were pancakes for dinner.

C'etait tres Norvegien...

Up to now, nothing abnormal, but then came the garnish: my host family is
used to eat pancakes with bacon and sugar! It was very Norwegian...
